(she/her) Executive Director
Rhiana Medina has been an active helping professional in Salt Lake City and Moab, Utah, since 2000. Her experience spans property management, peer parenting, nonprofit leadership, community health, interpretation, and direct advocacy for vulnerable populations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Family Life Studies and Sociology. Her involvement with MVMC began in 2010 as a volunteer, and in 2012 she became Executive Director. Since then, she has continued to lead efforts that create safe spaces, expand access to resources, and build meaningful opportunities for Moab’s immigrant, unhoused, and other vulnerable community members.
In addition to her work with MVMC, Rhiana serves on several community, regional, and statewide boards, including the Utah State Courts Access to Justice Commission, the State of Utah Multicultural Affairs Commission, the Moab Music Festival Board of Directors, the Regional Board of Health for Grand, Carbon, and Emery Counties, and the Grand County Local Homeless Council.
She is a certified Community Health Worker, a trained community interpreter, and a Utah Notary Public. Most recently, she completed training as a Community Justice Advocate, allowing her to provide free, limited-scope legal counsel to individuals experiencing housing instability in Grand County.
