Dialogues of Diversity: Multicultural Stories of Strength

Moab Valley Multicultural Center presents a new cultural event.

Moab, UT – June 7, 2018 – On June 30th the Moab Valley Multicultural Center (MVMC) will introduce an exciting new cultural event, Dialogues of Diversity: Multicultural Stories of Strength. This dinner theater is designed to connect people, community, and humanity through the art of storytelling. Tickets are $35 and available at the MVMC, 156 North 100 West. All proceeds benefit the Moab Valley Multicultural Center.

Dialogues of Diversity: Multicultural Stories of Strength was inspired by The Hispanic Women’s Project’s production of immigrant women’s stories in Telluride. MVMC Executive Director Rhiana Medina explained, "We loved the idea of locals telling their own stories. The staff was passionate about inviting a variety of people to tell stories of strength and perseverance."

The theme of the evening is being a newcomer in a new place. Five Moabites have crafted their own stories with the guidance of professional storyteller, Steffani Raff. Each story offers a unique perspective. “I hope that it will inspire recognizing common experiences that we all share”, says Outreach Coordinator Joanna Onorato.

Dialogues of Diversity: Multicultural Stories of Strength will be held at the MARC on June 30th. Doors open at 5:00 and the stories begin at 5:30. After the show, a light dinner will be served. The Moab Valley Multicultural Center invites locals, visitors, art lovers, and especially those unfamiliar with the MVMC to attend.

Space is limited, so be sure to get your tickets soon!
