Crisis Resource & Advocacy

The MVMC provides bilingual counseling, crisis intervention and referrals, as well as general support to individuals and families who face serious issues (such as a death in the family, rape, child abuse, suicide, hate crime, unjust labor practice, eviction, life threatening illness) but due to barriers of language, culture, resources or lack of trust have no where else to turn.

At the MVMC, we both listen to and support these clients in navigating the maze of American system and law. We provide referral services that direct them to the appropriate agency, and work with agencies and local government to resolve issues and raise awareness.  The MVMC has a reputation for providing services to marginalized people with compassion, understanding and efficacy, with the goal of truly including, in all aspects of American society all the people who make up this amazing melting pot.

Some of the services we offer are:

  • Court advocacy Self-help resources
  • Mental health referrals
  • Death in the family
  • Safety plans for sexual assault and domestic violence
  • Food emergency
